About this site: 3x5 note card version The heart of this site contains New Testament passages organized by philosophical importance. Additionally, there is content on philosophy, yoga, lucid dreaming, humor, and more.
About this site: detailed version For a long time, I have wanted to read the Holy Bible cover to cover. It also took me a long time to do so, and I finished while abroad studying Yoga in India. I am a philosophy major, and I read the good book like a philosophy text. I was very interested it what the Bible had to say in relation to metaphysics (the way the world is), ethics (what makes right acts right), judgment, salvation, especially predestination, as well as other subjects of strong interest. Using a New International Version (NIV) study bible, I noted passages that had significant statements. After I had finished my readings and note taking, I wanted a method of organization such that I could review all noted passages united by topic--I wanted to store them electronically. I debated the best way to store them... should I use a word processor? Spreadsheet? Database? Ah, a database I thought was reasonable. Yet, a website would be easier to navigate. Additionally, it is not unusual for me when discussing religious matters to state something like "the Bible suggests that few people go to heaven and most go to hell" or "the Bible suggests that we are all predestined and, if so, free will is an illusion." Of course, when I state things like that the response is usually "I don't believe you. Show me exactly were the Bible suggests that." Unfortunately, my memory is usually insufficient to declare the precise passages that support my point. So, the additional benefit of a website is that I can use it as a reference almost anywhere to enlighten others of such passages. Moreover, if it is on the internet, then billions of people all over the world can view these philosophically important passages! Honestly, I have not seen a collection of passages organized like what I have collected on all the net--so why not be generous and enrich the content of the World Wide Web! Here you go, world: New Testament cataloged by philosophical interest Lucid-Dreams.com... so it began. Now, I have really enjoyed building the website for this purpose. So much have I enjoyed it, that it proved difficult to limit myself to just the Bible Project intended. Therefore, I have added further information not easily accessible on the web that I think will be of value to others. Thus, Lucid-Dreams.com. Thank you for visiting, and enjoy your stay!
